FgoGotran Troubleshooting

Find the symptom you are seeing, then work through the checks in order. Phone users usually only need to check permissions, API and voice settings; emulator problems are more varied, so export the error log TXT first.

Export the error log first

Path: Settings → Error log → Export TXT. Emulator users especially should send this file first.

Reproduce the problem once before exporting the TXT. Otherwise the error log may be empty, or may not contain the real issue.

1

Reproduce the problem once

For example: the service fails to start, GO does not translate, there is no voice, the API test fails, or the emulator returns no screenshot.

2

Open the error log

Go back to FgoGotran, open the settings page and tap Error log.

3

Read the top entries

The newest problem is at the top. Check the title, code, detail, server, mode and speaker fields.

4

Export TXT

Tap Export TXT, then send that file to the author. Do not just send a screenshot.

5

Describe your setup too

Tell the author whether you are on a phone or an emulator, which FGO server you play, the translation mode, and your FgoGotran version.

Phone users

Real-device problems are usually few. Check permissions, API, voice and OCR timing first.

What should I check before starting the service?

Most real-device problems come from overlay permission, accessibility, the API key or the Speech key.

  1. Make sure overlay permission is granted.
  2. Make sure the FgoGotran accessibility service is enabled.
  3. If the button does not appear, turn the accessibility service off and on again in system settings — this is usually the most important fix.
  4. If the home screen shows it as disabled, fix that permission before starting the service.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

I tap GO but nothing is translated

Only the JP server needs a translation API; the Simplified and Traditional Chinese servers mainly read Chinese text and speak it.

  1. Open the API settings page and tap “Test API”.
  2. Check the API key, model name and endpoint.
  3. For the Simplified/Traditional Chinese servers, check the voice settings instead of the translation API.

Confirmed fixed: “Test API” succeeds and tapping GO in-game shows a translation.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

No voice

AI voice is off, the Speech key is missing, or the region is wrong.

  1. Open voice settings and make sure AI voice is on.
  2. Make sure the Speech key is filled in and the region is correct.
  3. Tap “Test voice” to confirm audio comes back.

Confirmed fixed: The voice test succeeds and in-game playback works.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

OCR is inaccurate or misses text

The text is not fully displayed, or the crop area includes too much unrelated UI.

  1. Wait until the text is fully displayed before tapping GO.
  2. In crop mode, frame the complete text area.
  3. Avoid including too much unrelated UI.

Confirmed fixed: After tapping GO again, the translation covers the correct text.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Emulator users

Emulators are more likely to have issues. Focus on 64-bit instances, the Android version, screenshots, graphics rendering, overlay permission and package names.

Which emulator or instance should I use?

Older, 32-bit or beta kernels are more likely to hit screenshot, OCR, native-library and accessibility compatibility problems.

  1. Create a 64-bit instance first.
  2. Make sure the Android version is 11 or newer.
  3. For MuMu, LDPlayer and BlueStacks, prefer a 64-bit instance.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

I tap GO but nothing is translated

First work out whether this is an API/OCR problem or an emulator screen-event problem.

  1. Test once with manual GO.
  2. If manual GO works, test semi-auto and auto.
  3. If manual GO also fails, check screenshots, OCR, the API or the voice settings.

Confirmed fixed: If manual GO translates, the API and OCR are basically working.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

No screenshot returned / current display invalid / bitmap_null

This is usually an emulator graphics-layer problem: Android is not giving the app a usable game screenshot.

  1. Try switching the renderer between OpenGL, DirectX and Vulkan.
  2. Restart the emulator.
  3. Reproduce the problem once, then check the error log.

Confirmed fixed: After switching renderers and restarting, manual GO returns a screenshot.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

The button does not appear or cannot be tapped

The emulator may report the permission as granted while actually blocking the overlay or the accessibility service.

  1. Grant overlay permission again.
  2. In system accessibility settings, turn FgoGotran off and on again — this is usually the most important step.
  3. Start the service and check whether GO / Semi / Auto appear.

Confirmed fixed: After starting the service, the GO / Semi / Auto buttons appear normally.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Semi-auto / auto does not react

If manual GO works but auto mode does not, it is usually not an API problem but unstable emulator screen events, screenshot refresh or game-window state.

  1. Confirm manual GO works.
  2. Check that the game window is stable and not covered.
  3. Watch whether screen-change detection is triggered.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Channel builds or unusual package names

B-server, TW-server, channel builds or emulators with modified package names may not be on the supported list.

  1. Export the error log TXT.
  2. Make sure the TXT includes package, class and app label.

Confirmed fixed: Send the TXT to the author so support can be added.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Screen mirroring to PC

A PC showing the game screen does not mean FgoGotran can read it; what matters is whether the phone's own screen is still really displaying.

Why does the PC show the screen but the app cannot translate?

Mirroring software only shows the phone screen on the PC. FgoGotran still runs on the phone and can only read what Android screenshots of the phone currently display.

  1. Make sure the phone screen is still actually on and showing the game.
  2. Do not use mirroring modes that turn the phone screen black.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Why does it fail when the phone screen is off?

When the phone screen is off, black, or in a power-saving mirroring mode, Android may not give the app a real game screenshot, so OCR finds no text.

  1. Keep the phone screen on.
  2. Turn off screen-off, black-screen or power-saving mirroring modes.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Which mirroring method do you recommend?

Wired mirroring is more stable than wireless and can keep the screen awake.

  1. Prefer USB wired mirroring.
  2. Keep the phone screen on.
  3. scrcpy can use the stay-awake / keep-active options.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Does brightness matter?

Normal screen brightness usually does not affect Android screenshot pixels.

  1. What actually matters is screen-off, black-screen, privacy-screen or special display layers — check those first.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Common error meanings

When you see these titles in the error log, try the matching fix first.

Overlay permission not granted

The app does not have permission to draw over other apps, so the button cannot appear over FGO.

  1. Allow FgoGotran to display over other apps in system settings.
  2. Go back to the home screen and start the service.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Accessibility service not enabled

Android is not delivering game screen events to FgoGotran.

  1. Open the system accessibility settings.
  2. Even if it shows as enabled, turn FgoGotran off and on again.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

No screenshot returned / current display invalid / bitmap_null

Android or the emulator is not giving the app a usable game screenshot.

  1. Keep the phone screen on.
  2. Switch the emulator's graphics rendering mode.
  3. Do not use black-screen mode while mirroring.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

API request failed

The translation endpoint did not return normally.

  1. Test again on the API settings page.
  2. Check the key, model name, endpoint, balance and network.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Azure TTS request failed

The voice service did not return audio normally.

  1. Test the voice on the voice settings page.
  2. Make sure the Speech key matches the region.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.

Unsupported FGO package name

The app saw a package name that looks like FGO, but it is not on the supported list yet.

  1. Export the error log TXT; it includes the package, class and app label.

Still failing? Export the error log TXT and describe your FgoGotran version, device, FGO server and mode, then send them to the author together.
